Your Soo Locks boat tour will float along the St. Mary’s River until it reaches the Soo Locks and is raised 21 feet, level with Lake Superior. Once level with Lake Superior, journey along the waters and under the International Bridge and Railroad Bridge of this great lake. Cross into Canadian waters to see Canada’s largest steel plant in operation today. Heading back to native waters, you’ll return to the lower harbor through the historic Canadian Lock. Sail past St. Mary’s rapids and through the birthplace of Michigan, Sault Ste. Marie.

Gain a better understanding of the planning and construction of the wondrous Soo Locks at the Soo Locks Visitor Center. Fun interactive exhibits, artifacts, photographs and a movie chronicle the construction of the Soo Locks and explore the rich history of the largest waterway traffic system on earth.
