Learn about the life and legacy of American legend Will Rogers at the Will Rogers Memorial Museum in Claremore, Oklahoma as part of this group bus trip. Born in the late 1870s on a frontier ranch, Will Rogers used his cowboy trick roping talents to enter the show business and rise to stardom. From Broadway actor to movie star, newspaper columnist and author to America’s premier radio commentator, Will Rogers was one of the most influential and best known figures in the first half of the twentieth century. Sat on a lofty hillside overlooking the scenic expanse of the Tiawah Valley, the magnificent museum of native limestone was dedicated to Will Rogers in November of 1938. Today the Museum collects preserves and shares the life, wisdom and humor of Will Rogers with all generations.

Visiting Will Rogers Memorial Museum

During you visit to the Will Rogers Museum enjoy a self-guided tour of the Museum’s galleries that tell the story of Will Rogers. Experience Rogers’ passion as a family man, trick roper, actor and philanthropist, marvel at Rogers’ saddles, art and memorabilia, hear Rogers’ voice on radio replays, or watch one of his motion pictures shown in the Museum’s theaters. In the Museum Store, you can shop for gifts and keepsakes that support the theme of the Will Rogers Memorial Museum.

Galleries

12 galleries of priceless artifacts and fine art including a famous saddle collection bring Will Rogers’ story to life. Highlighted in the Museum’s collection are numerous video and audio displays that explore Rogers’ diverse career in entertainment and communication, his humor and humanity, and his passion for both aviation and roping.  Remember to visit the Museum’s theaters where 21 feature-length motion pictures are shown daily. In addition to the motion pictures featured in the Museum’s theaters, you can also see a documentary about Will Rogers’ life.

Shop for gifts and keepsakes to remember your time at the Will Rogers Memorial in the Museum Store. Books, videos and more than 100 other gift items, unique to Will Rogers, the Old West and Rout 66 are available to purchase.

-          Will Rogers’ movies show continuously from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Ask a member of staff for more information on the Museum’s movie schedule.

 

-          Look for Never Met a Man I Didn’t Like, a heroic statue situated in the rotunda of the Will Rogers Memorial Museum. Cast by Rogers’ friend Jo Davidson in 1938, the statue is the most photographed, and perhaps the most touched icon in Rogers County.
