An Unforgettable Experience

Once you’ve arrived at the Willis Tower, climb aboard an elevator and head to Skydeck. Travelling at a speed of 1,600 feet per minute, the elevators at the Willis Tower are known as the fastest in the world.

Reaching for the Sky

As you step off the elevator you can start your time off at the Willis Tower with, Reaching for the Sky. During this fascinating 9-minute film learn about Chicago’s rise to the top of the architectural world, how the wondrous Willis Tower went from being a dream to the world icon that it is today.

Exhibits

From the moment you enter the Willis Tower learn about Chicago’s sports, architecture, culture, history, food, music and people through touch screen activities and exhibits. See just how many of you it would take to measure up to the height of the Willis Tower or challenge yourself with the Chicago Trivia Game.

The Skydeck

On the 103rd floor of the tower is the Skydeck. Visited by millions of tourists each year, the Skydeck offers breathtaking views of Chicago and the surrounding area. Spot Chicago's favorite attractions in every direction, such as Chicago Bears' home stadium Soldier Field, Lake Michigan, the other skyscrapers, and the surrounding area known as Chicagoland.

The Ledge

Inspired by the hundreds of forehead prints visitors left on the Skydeck windows, the Willis Tower’s newest attraction, the Ledge was opened in 2009. Featuring four glass boxes that extend 4.3 feet outside the tower and stand 1,353 feet above Wacker Drive, experience Chicago on a whole new level.

Travel Tips

  • Want to capture breathtaking views of Chicago? Remember when shooting pictures toward the windows to use the “backlight” function on your camera, turn off your flash and use a polarized filter. If there is something you wish to capture on camera, but aren’t sure how to get that perfect picture, just ask a member of the Skydeck team for assistance.

  • The Willis Tower Skydeck is wheelchair accessible. If you or someone in your party is handicapped, let your reservations agent know ahead of time, so that they can be sure to accommodate your group in the most convenient and comfortable setting.
