Come and see the life size model of the containment vessel used during the global chase for nuclear power. Explore the literature about the very first usable amounts of electricity provided by a nuclear reactor. Learn about the first city to be powered by nuclear energy or the rise of the nuclear navy. There are many displays and examples of significant advances in nuclear energy including the first light bulb ever to be lit by a nuclear reactor and the world’s first nuclear reactor!
Lewis And Clark In Idaho
Explore how Lewis and Clark affected Idaho and its landscape. See how they interacted with the Shoshone Village and learn about the history of the natural Idaho culture through carefully constructed displays and delicate artifacts.
Eagle Rock
Created as a lasting legacy to celebrate the history of Idaho Falls, the Eagle Rock exhibit allows visitors to transport back in time and get a grasp of what life was like in this small community. Comprised of artifacts and other relics donated by local residents this exhibit is fun for all ages!

The Museum of Idaho Store offers rare and exceptional souvenirs and great gifts made in Idaho in order to give it’s visitors a memento from their experience at the museum. There is something for everyone from key chains and t-shirts to handmade glass and jewelry so choose wisely!
Be sure to grab your camera before you enter the museum as you won’t want to miss all the photo opportunities. You may also want to bring a pack lunch as there is no cafe in the museum. The museum is state of the art and fully equipped to handle all handicap and disability needs.
