James Stephens III, known as “The Man of a Thousand Voices,” is a master impressionist and performer known for his wide range of spot-on impressions. Stephens has performed at performing arts institutions including Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. He has also performed internationally — he has headlined entertainment acts on major cruise lines, performed in Amsterdam and Scotland, made appearances on the UK’s BBC, and was the first African-American to perform in London at Hackney Theater and Lewisham. Time Magazine has referred to him as one of the funniest comedians of the present day.
His television work includes starring on several shows as well as appearing on Comedy Central, HBO, Showtime, CBS, NBC, ABC, and MTV. And he has worked with celebrities such as Jerry Seinfeld, Joe Rogan, Chris Rock, Will Ferrell, Steve Carrell, George Lopez, Patti LaBelle, and Aretha Franklin. He is credited for his wide range of comedic performance abilities that appeal to all audiences and today performs at the Asher Theatre in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
