Egyptian Mummies
Start your time in the Denver museum in the Egyptian Mummies exhibit. Step back in time and see how scientists uncovered the mysterious lives of two Egyptian mummies through the magic of modern technology. You will encounter tomb artifacts, animal mummies, a model of an Egyptian temple and model replicas of one of the women’s skulls.
Expedition Health
Discover how your body is constantly changing and adapting in ways you can see, measure and optimize. Expedition Health immerses your body in a theater experience that will engage all of your senses.
Gems and Minerals
Follow the mine shaft into a Mexican silver mine, or discover local mining finds such as Tom’s Baby, an eight-pound nugget of crystallized gold found in Breckenridge in 1887. The Gems and Minerals exhibit is home to a number of hands-on activities and videos that will help you learn about mineral characteristics and how minerals form.
Konovalenko: Gem Carvings of Russian Folk Life
Konovalenko: Gem Carvings of Russian Folk Art is the only public display of its kind outside of Moscow, Russia and features the gem carvings of Ukrainian artist Vasily Konovalenko. Delight in the careful detail of the artists’ work as you admire the sculptures of Russian folk art that belong to this exciting display.
North American Indian Cultures
Discover how North America’s native peoples’ rich diversity in traditional and modern lifeways reflects the distinctive regional influences of environment and materials in North American Indian Cultures. As you travel through the various regions in this exhibit you will come across authentic reconstructed dwellings, have the chance to examine beautifully crafted weavings, basketry, beadwork and pottery and listen to stories and watch videos about the major groups of North American Indian cultures.
Prehistoric Journey
Wander prehistoric habitats and examine ancient plants, or watch scientists as they observe and prepare fossils using modern technology to uncover the past. A prehistoric adventure awaits you in the Prehistoric Journey exhibit.
Space Odyssey
Explore the cosmos or visit Mars, Space Odyssey’s hands-on exhibits, live performances and demonstrations not only allow you to explore the universe, but bring space news headlines to life.
Wildlife Exhibits
Discover our planet’s amazing diversity as you journey through the Wildlife Exhibits. From Alaska to Argentina, Africa to Australia, Denver Museum of Nature and Science is home to more than 90 wildlife and habitat scenes that illustrate the abundant wildlife and delicate ecosystems of our planet.
Planetarium
The Denver Museum of Nature and Science’s Planetarium helps you to experience the universe through state-of-the-art technology that tells science stories. Take a seat in the 125-seat Planetarium and experience the show of a lifetime.
IMAX Theater
Located on the second floor of the Denver Museum of Nature and Science is the IMAX Theater. Opened in 1983, this Denver attraction shows large-format IMAX films about our universe on a daily basis.
Shopping at the Museum Gift Shop
In the Museum Gift Shop you can browse through a wide variety of unique and educational items. Situated on the first level of the Museum, the Museum Gift Shop’s displays change throughout the year and merchandise is always being updated and added.
Dining at Denver Museum of Nature and Science
After you’ve explored the Denver museum take a break and relax in T-Rex Café serving hot entrées with an ethnic flair, fresh salads, sandwiches, pizzas and calzones and vegetarian meals. If you are looking for something quick and easy, Grab & Go (Snack Bar) serves snacks and drinks.
