The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame
Pay tribute to the Texas Rangers in the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame. Built in 1976, the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame commemorates the service and sacrifices of 30 Texas Rangers who gave their lives in the line of duty or made significant contributions to the development of the service. The facility features portraits and biographies of the most famous Texas Rangers. Additionally, the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame houses wax figures depicting the rangers, their dress and equipment from frontier days to modern times.
Museum
The Texas Ranger Museum interprets the story of the Texas Rangers. Learn about the early Texas Rangers and the Indians. See the Texas Rangers in worldwide popular culture. In another exhibit, women and Texas Rangers are explored. Exhibits showcase artifacts such as historic Texas Ranger badges, firearms and weapons, and other items related to the Texas Rangers. Highlights include a knife and rifle James Bowie used at the Battle of the Alamo, a fine collection of percussion Colt revolvers including the very rare Colt Paterson and Colt Walker and items that once belonged to notorious outlaws like 1930s gangsters Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker, Billy the Kid, Sam Bass and John Selman. Additionally, the Museum boasts the Lone Ranger collection. From view-master reels, lunch boxes, dolls of every size and an original black mask made by Clayton Moore, the Lone Ranger himself, the Lone Ranger collection is comprised of 400 pieces of Lone Ranger memorabilia.
