Visit the Texas Panhandle War Memorial for an awe-inspiring experience and an opportunity to honor those who have protected the freedoms of the United States as part of this group motorcoach vacation package. Located at I-27 and Georgia Street, next to the Randall County Annex in Amarillo, Texas. The Texas Panhandle War Memorial originated with Mr. L.D. Weeks idea of a war memorial that would honor all veterans of the 26th county area known as the Texas Panhandle. L.D. Weeks first had the idea for the memorial when he noticed a park was being built on an empty lot in Amarillo. Today that lot is home to the Texas Panhandle War Memorial, honoring all veterans from the greater Texas Panhandle who served in conflicts from the Spanish-American War to the present. Since the Memorial was dedicated in 2003, both locals and visitors passing through have stopped to reflect on the past conflict and honor the veterans of the Texas Panhandle.
