Shop Thousands of Handcrafted Items

Shop thousands of one-of-a-kind handcrafted items at the Tamarack Cultural Center. Tamarack’s Jewelry and Apparel department includes hundreds of pieces of handmade jewelry in all styles and colorful hats, scarves, ties, jackets and other apparel.  The Center boasts a whole host of wood, baskets, pottery and glass items crafted by West Virginian artisans. A wonderful selection of books including fiction, non-fiction, children’s, self-help, history and cookbooks as well as CDs and DVDs can be purchased from Tamarack’s Book department. Gourmet foods at Tamarack include jellies, jams, honey, chocolate, fudge and wine. Additional gourmet foods such as fine coffee and delicious cookies, biscotti and pastries can be purchased from the Greenbrier Shoppe.

Resident Artisan

See Tamarack’s artisans at work. The Tamarack Cultural Center houses five artisan studios where you can observe skilled craftsmen and women at work.  Textile, pottery, blacksmithing, woodworking and glass artisans are among those who give demonstrations throughout the week and on the weekends.

Fine Art Gallery

Be sure to explore the David L Dickirson gallery at Tamarack. Hosting a new exhibition every six to eight weeks, the art gallery exhibitions feature the best of West Virginia fine art, with each exhibition showcasing a different style or concept.

Food Court

Regional cuisine in Tamarack Cultural Center’s Food Court is prepared fresh daily by The Greenbrier.  West Virginia jams and jellies, salad dressings and mustards and locally grown trout and catfish are used to create the Food Court’s daily offerings. Enjoy creative salads like the pickled beet and egg salad or backyard potato salad as well as cold roast beef, turkey breast, corned beef and hoagie sandwiches. Sandwiches off the grill, pizzas and entrées like the West Virginia rainbow trout with lemon brown butter or chicken pot pie are also available. Items from The Greenbrier’s bakery for sale include specialty breads like yeast rolls and cornbread and desserts such as bread pudding, pecan pie, apple crisp, carrot cake and cheesecake.  

Travel Tips

-          The Tamarack Cultural Center is ADA compliant. Complimentary wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis from the front desk information area. A valid ID is required.
