O Winston Link Museum Galleries
Explore the vibrant, but gone part of American history in the O Winston Link Museum. Galleries feature over 300 photographs Ogle Winston Link took during his five year project from 1955 through 1960 that recorded life along the lines. During this project, Link captured the vanishing of America’s last railroad to run exclusively steam locomotives. Divided thematically, galleries allow you to explore everything from Link’s technical mastery, with examples of lighting equipment, interactive exhibits and the museum’s darkroom display to life in the 1950s.
Raymond Loewy, Designer For A Modern Era
The Roanoke museum’s newest gallery, Raymond Loewy, Designer For A Modern Era chronicles the life and career of Raymond Loewy, an industrial designer known for his streamlined, modern designs and praised for his work on the Pennsylvania Railroad.
