Seahorse Unbridled Fun

Seahorse Unbridled Fun is an interactive exhibit where you can discover 10 species of seahorses, sea dragons, trumpetfish, shrimpfish and pipefish. At the Seahorse Creation Station, create a digital seahorse you can share with friends and family. Life-size seahorse sculptures allow you to uncover the unusual features that make seahorses unique.

Amazon Tunnel

Explore the depths of the Amazon River as you walk under 117,000 gallons of fresh water. A 32-foot acrylic tunnel provides unique views of the Arapaima, the largest freshwater fish, the exotic Pacu and dozens of other species.

Canyon Falls

Meet Asian small-clawed otters in Canyon Falls. Otters can be viewed from multiple vantage points as they swim and play next to an indoor waterfall.  Canyon Falls is also home to two species of lizards, the yellow monitor from Indonesia and panther chameleon from Madagascar.

Coral Reef

Explore the colorful Coral Reef as you pass through acrylic tunnels at the Newport Aquarium. You might see Tangs, Unicorn fish, Honeycomb Morey, or Cownose Rays.

Dangerous Deadly

Come face to face with the most dangerous, deadly and often misunderstood, animals of the aquatic world. Dangerous Deadly exhibits Stonefish, Lionfish and Piranha and gives you the chance to get up close and learn the facts about snakes, lizards and freshwater stingrays.

Frog Bog

Boasting nearly 20 species of exotic frogs, Frog Bog is the largest exhibit of its kind in the Midwest. Meet the friendly frogs in Frog Bog and learn about the environmental issues that frogs face.

Gator Alley

Gator Alley exhibits eight species of crocodilians from four continents. It is one of the most diverse collections of crocodilian species in the country.  Meet white American Alligators Snowball and Snowflake. Mighty Mike also lives at Gator Alley and at 14 feet and 800 pounds, he is the biggest alligator in the country outside of Florida.

Jellyfish Gallery

Jellyfish Gallery is one of the largest jellyfish exhibits in the Midwest. Enjoy 360-degree views as over 100 jellyfish dance about the tank, or play tag with moon jellies at the interactive Jelly Wall.

Kroger Penguin Palooza

Visit one of the most diverse collections of cold-weather penguins in the country in Kroger Penguins Palooza. Don’t miss a show in the gallery. Shows feature Aquarium presenters who will entertain you with facts about penguins and interact with animated penguin characters on a high-definition video board.

Pepsi World Rivers

Find the highest density and diversity of life forms in the Aquarium in Pepsi World Rivers. Boasting portals to nine different rivers on five continents, experience what life is like on the Wenlock River in Australia, the Mekong River in Thailand and Africa’s Lake Tanganyika.

Shark Central

Come face to face with dozens of sharks in Shark Central, the only experience of its kind in the region. Learn the official “two-finger” technique that will bring you in contact with one of nature’s most feared predators.

Shark Ray Bay

Shark Ray Bay highlights one of the largest acrylic windows in the Aquarium, with views of a giant shark tank.  Be sure to catch one of the Aquarium’s dive shows to learn about its collection of Shark Rays and other animals featured in the exhibit.

Shark Tank Overlook

After coming face to face with Shark Rays in Shark Ray Bay head to the Shark Tank Overlook. You will get a fascinating topside view of the exotic Shark Rays and their friends.

Shore Gallery

Visit Newport Aquarium’s Shore Gallery and discover creatures that live along the shores of Eastern North America, South America and Asia, from fish with four eyes to fish that can walk out of water. The exhibit’s Tide Pool is home to Horeshoe Crabs, Whelks and live Sea Stars you can touch.

Surrounded By Sharks

Wander seamless acrylic tunnels and immerse yourself in the ocean as 7 species of sharks swim around you in Surrounded By Sharks. Species of sharks include Shark Rays, Southern Stingrays, Honeycomb Whiptail Rays, Sand Tiger Sharks, Sandbar Sharks, Blacktip Reef Sharks, Zebra Sharks and Scalloped Hammerhead Sharks.

Dining at Sharky’s Café

Just beyond the shark exhibits is Sharky’s Café.  Enjoy light and hearty seasonal specialities and traditional favorites, from a slice of cake or bag of potato chips, to specialty certified angus beef burgers and fresh wraps. Cold and hot beverages are also available for purchase from Sharky’s Café.

Aquarium Gift Shop

Visit the Aquarium Gift Shop, carrying gifts and keepsakes. Shop gator gear, plush animals and other wacky toys from your favorite exhibits, books, jewelry and art glass.

Travel Tips

-          The Newport Aquarium is ADA compliant. Complimentary wheelchairs are available for use from the Information Desk on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

-          The Aquarium does not allow outside food and beverages, except for bottled water.
