This is a tribute to honor and remember the nearly 3,000 people that were killed in the terror attacks on 9/11/01 and 2/26/93. See the twin reflecting pools that have every name inscribed into bronze panels edging the pools. On the Memorial, you will see the "Survivor Tree". This callery pear tree was discovered at Ground Zero in October 2001, severely damaged. It was removed from the rubble and given to the New York City Department Parks and Recreation for care. After its rehabilitation it was returned to the Memorial in 2010. The tree is a reminder of resilience, survival and rebirth.
