Lucas Oil Stadium a State-of-the-Art Facility

Built to resemble a classic Indiana fieldhouse, like Butler University’s historic Hinkle Fieldhouse, the stadium’s unique features include its roof, made of two steel panels that overlap to form a retractable roof capable of opening and closing in 9 to 11 minutes. Seating designed to place the court at the center offers 63,000 seats for football games and 70,000 seats for basketball games. Built 29 inches above the field and elevated on a platform, the court floor is built to help sight lines. The stadium features 2 jumbo high-definition TV screens at either end of the field and LED video boards that circle the stadium. The stadium’s six-panel moveable window, when opened, reveals beautiful views of the Indianapolis skyline.
