George W. Bush Presidential Museum
As you enter Freedom Hall, the heart of the Museum, a media presentation on a 360-degree high-definition LED display will orient you to the Museum’s public exhibits throughout its galleries and depicts a montage of the 44 United States’ Presidents. Museum exhibits about the education reform, the global war on terror, the financial crisis and efforts to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS explore an extraordinary time in America’s history. As you make your way through the 14,000 square foot Museum, exhibits come to life through artifacts, documents, photographs and videos from the Library’s extensive collection.
Decision Points Theater
Situated in the permanent exhibition is Decision Point Theater, designed to take you “inside” the decision-making process and policies developed during the Administration of President George W. Bush. Stand in the shoes of President Bush as you are presented with one of the same crises that the 43rd president had to deal with during his two terms in office. After you receive advice from a variety of advisors, decide what you would do, then discover how President Bush dealt with the situation.
Oval Office
Step into the Library and Museum’s full-scale, interactive Oval Office, designed to replicate the Oval Office as it existed during President George W. Bush’s two terms in office. Not only will you get the opportunity to walk on a replica of the original rug emblazoned with its Presidential Seal and recline in one of the two federal stripe chairs that originated in the Federal Period, but the chance to be photographed sitting behind the Resolute desk in the same chair that President Bush used himself.
Texas Rose Garden
Just beyond the Oval Office exhibit, the Texas Rose Garden awaits. Modeled on the Rose Garden at the White House in Washington, D.C., the Texas Rose Garden includes Texas plants and flowers, benches for relaxation and an infinity pond studded with lily pads.
