Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum Exhibits
The museum’s core exhibit halls are divided across the museum’s three floors. Brought to life by artifacts, recreated environments and multimedia, exhibits allow you to experience the unfolding “Story of Texas” chapter by chapter. Learn about original inhabitants of Texas through artifacts including pottery, weapons, jewelry and clothing dating back 4,000 years ago. Land can be found on the first floor of the museum and explores the Native Peoples who lived in Texas thousands of years before the arrival of the Europeans. Make your way to the second floor of the museum and discover how the Lone Star identity was built through two centuries of conflict and compromise in the Identity gallery. On the third floor the legacy of Texas ranching will come to life as you explore the origins of Texas Longhorn, see how barbed wire changed Texas and step into the recreated Texas Theater to watch “Reel Hollywood Cowboys,” clips that feature rare and blockbuster portrayals of the cowboy way of life.
Located in the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum is the Museum Gift Shop. Texas ornaments, apparel, books, gifts, jewelry, souvenirs, kitchenware, stationary and wall décor are just some of the items that can be purchased in the Museum Gift Store.
