The Story of Samson
Samson was an Israelite hero portrayed in the bible as a legendary warrior. Before his birth, his parents learned that he was to be dedicated to the life of a Nazarite, one set aside for God by a vow to abstain from strong drink, shaving or cutting the hair, and from contact with a dead body. The story of Samson tells of the loss of his extraordinary physical strength to the violation of his Nazarite vow. Depicted as being ruled by passion and Recognized by remarkable feats such as the slaying of a lion, he initially broke his religious promises by feasting with a woman and then followed by many other remarkable acts. Samson fell victim to his foes through love of a woman named Delilah, who influenced him to reveal the secret of his strength: his long Nazarite hair. Delilah, as he slept, ultimately betrayed him by cutting his hair. He was then captured, blinded, and imprisoned by the Philistines but was ultimately granted his revenge through the return of his old strength.

Samson at the Sight and Sound Theatre in Branson, Missouri, is a production based on one of the most captivating stories in the Bible. Samson is said to be the strongest man who ever lived as well as the world’s first super hero. He killed a lion with his bare hands, and defeated a thousand soldiers, but that’s not what makes him a superhero. What makes Samson a superhero is the faith in his heart! Samson is complete with story, song, professional actors in meticulous costumes, live animals, and extraordinary acts of strength. An immersive scene, of Samson standing between two colossal columns in a godless temple as he starts to push, legitimately brings the house down. Samson performs live, with a message of hope for the unruly, comfort to the shattered, and the grace of God that empowering us to be strong in Him! The Sight and Sound Theatre
The Sight and Sound Theatre is the largest Christian live theater in the United States. Also known as the “Christian Broadway”, the larger-than-life shows of Sight and Sound center around messages of hope. Their epic bible-based shows are known to break through the fourth wall, the “imaginary wall” at the front of the stage as it is known in traditional theaters. The theater seats over 2,000 people with a 300 foot wrap around stage bringing you right into the action with their 40 feet high sets, trained animals and tremendous special effects.
